Recipe : Blend All ingredients with cold filtered water. Use raw chickpeas that you soaked in water the night before...

You will need a blender or food processor

Prep Time: 5 minutes. Be sure to soak chickpeas in water overnight and freeze

This protein shake is super easy and very inexpensive to make. When bulking I have two of these a day. That gets me an easy to digest 2500 Calories and 100 grams of Protein from a superfood... the chickpeas. Whey Protein is just getting way to expensive as is milk.

1 Cup of raw chickpeas peeled or skinned... par-boil with baking soda after overnight soaking. then rub the skins off... see video below for alternate method. This makes them easier to digest.

1/2 Cup of uncooked oats
1/4 cup of green papaya (papaya enzyme)
2 Tablespoons of organic peanut butter
2 Frozen Bananas
1/4 Avocado (optional)
1/4 Cup of berries (strawberry, blueberry, etc.)
1 Tablespoon of organic coconut oil
1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 tablespoon of organic honey
filtered water

Nutritional Information :

Chick Peas are not a complete protein as its low in tryptophan and methionine. Therefore other ingredients in this smoothie or your diet can complement this weight gainer. To assist in digestion of this massive amount of protein, consider taking enzymes and B Complex.

1. Chickpeas, as all grains and seeds, contain phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors which inhibit nutrient absorption and make digestion more complicated.
2. Chickpeas contain complex sugars that some people have trouble digesting.
3. Chickpeas have a skin which is often indigestible.

The way to enjoy chickpeas again is to neutralize the phytic acid and enzyme inhibitors, break down the complex sugars and remove the skin. Here's how to achieve the above:

Soak the dried chickpeas for 24 hours in plenty of water with a couple of tablespoons of whey or lemon juice. After soaking drain and rinse the chickpeas well.
