It’s okay to talk about it: Expert discusses fiber on San Diego TV

Holistic pharmacist and health author Sherry Torkos understands that spring travel can lead to some uncomfortable situations. To keep occasional constipation or diarrhea from hampering your plans, she suggests Sunfiber. This soluble fiber is a truly regulating fiber which may improve both conditions. Appearing on XETV’s San Diego Living Sunfiber, Torkos also explained that Sunfiber is a prebiotic fiber. This unique quality may reduce any unpleasant side effects which can be common with other fiber supplements.

You are not the only one whose digestion is affected by travel. “Constipation is very common, especially when traveling,” said Torkos. “You are eating different food and going to a different bathroom. You are just not quite as comfortable. I love this product. It is called Sunfiber.” Torkos demonstrated how the white powder rapidly dissolves in water. “It is tasteless and odorless,” she explained. Gluten-free Sunfiber can be mixed into almost any beverage or used in cooking or baking. Unlike other fiber supplements, it’s not gritty so it won’t alter the taste or texture of foods.

Made from hydrolyzed guar gum, Sunfiber is a truly regulating fiber. “This is good whether you are struggling with occasional constipation or occasional diarrhea,” explained Torkos. “It also contains prebiotics which are components that help encourage the growth of beneficial bacteria in your stomach. So, it helps get the digestion back on track.” This prebiotic fiber is also less likely to cause the gas and discomfort common in other fiber supplements because it has a slower rate of fermentation in the gut. Some fiber supplements encourage a more rapid fermentation which results in an excess of uncomfortable bloating and flatulence.

Because it doesn’t impact the flavor, color, aroma or texture of the food or beverage to which it is added, it’s an easy way to increase fiber intake and improve digestion.
