Hey BraveNation! I am Todd Allen, Director of New Student Programs and we are excited about you starting classes with us soon. Make sure you follow this Pembroke Bound Checklist to transition successfully to UNC Pembroke.
Please ensure our Office of Admissions has all of your official transcripts in order to obtain proper credit. This includes final high school transcripts and college transcripts. For information concerning college credit, please contact the Admissions office at 910.521.6262.
Please Submit online your immunizations and health form prior to your orientation date. All documents must be completed online at our Student Health Patient Portal. Please visit uncp.medicatconnect.com to access the online portal. North Carolina Law requires all students enrolling in five (5) or more semester hours to submit a copy of their immunization records.
Students taking six (6) or more credit hours are required to purchase the Student Health Insurance Plan. You are however able to waive the insurance if you already have equivalent coverage. If you do not complete the waiver procedure, you will be enrolled in the student insurance and be required to pay the premium associated with the insurance policy. Online students are not required to go through this process.
Please visit uncp.edu/insurancewaiver/ to waive out of the University Sponsored Plan after you have registered for your classes.
The university requires first-year freshmen to reside on campus for their initial academic year. For more information on the Housing Application or the Freshmen Housing Waiver Application Form, please visit uncp.edu/housing. The Residence Life program offers residential students the opportunity to be a part of a community that is clean, safe and respectful; a community that is interactive and conducive to academic, educational and social growth and development.
If you are a new student and you have not yet applied for in-state residency through the state-required Residency Determination Service electronic interview please visit www.ncresidency.org. This application will help to ensure that you receive the correct billing charges from the university. If you receive an out-of-state determination and you do not agree with it, you may request a reconsideration of your residency decision from RDS up to three times within a 90-day period. For more information, call toll-free 844.319.3640.
Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 910.521.6262 with any questions.
Students who have a disability and are requesting accommodations while a student should contact the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) at 910.521.6695. Accessibility Resource Center works with each student on a case-by-case basis to determine and implement appropriate and reasonable accommodations.
As part of our commitment to overall campus wellness, AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates are comprehensive prevention programs that all newly enrolled students must complete. You will receive an email at the beginning of the semester from Counseling and Psychological Services. The email will announce that you may begin AlcoholEdu for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates. The courses have two sections, both of which must be completed to fulfill this requirement and register for future classes at UNCP. Deadlines for completion will be included in the email from Counseling and Psychological Services.
Every UNC Pembroke student is assigned a BraveMail email account. All official communication (including billing and financial aid) is sent to the student’s BraveMail account. It is important that you check this account regularly for important information.
The Braves Card is the primary identification card for the University. In August, in order to obtain your Braves Card you must come to the Braves Card Office located in the Auxiliary Services Building, Suite 4 and take your photograph.
