1.  Eat Less

OK, now this one is obvious, but the question is how much less?  You don’t want to eat too little as that can have a negative impact on you.  A good amount of calories to eat as a woman is 1200 and as a man it is 1600.  If you stay within this range, you should lose weight easily enough.

2.  Lift Weights

Now a lot of you may skip over lifting weights when trying to lose weight but this is a huge mistake.  Lifting weights is extremely powerful as it burns additional calories and also the muscle that you gain burns more calories for you while you’re at rest, this is because it takes energy to maintain your muscle.

3.  Cardio

In addition to the weights, of course you have to work out on the treadmill or elliptical machines.  Nothing burns calories quite like a 30 minute cardio session.  If you don’t have a gym membership you can still burn the calories off by running around your neighborhood.
